Alain Dutheil serves as Advisor at STMicroelectronics NV. Mr. Dutheil served as Chief Operating Officer of STMicroelectronics NV since 2005 and ST-Ericsson NV from November 2, 2009 to January 2011. Mr. Dutheil served as President of STS Microelectronics. Mr. Dutheil served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at ST-Ericsson of STMicroelectronics NV from August 2008 to November 2, 2009. Mr. Dutheil served as Corporate Vice President of Strategic Planning at STMicroelectronics N.V. from May 1994 to 2005 and its Corporate Vice President of Human Resources 1992 to 2005.

From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Dutheil served as Director for Worldwide Back-end Manufacturing. He served as Corporate Vice President of STMicroelectronics NV since 1989 and served as its Vice Chairman of Management Board. Mr. Dutheil joined Texas Instruments in 1969 as a Production Engineer and served as New Products Development Engineer in Dallas, Texas; Engineering Manager, Director for Discrete Products in France, as Human Resources Director for Texas Instruments, France since 1980 and as Director of Operations for Texas Instruments, Portugal since 1982.

He joined Thomson Semiconducteurs in 1983 as General Manager of a plant in Aix-en-Provence, France and served as General Manager of Discrete Products Division of STMicroelectronics N.V. until 1989. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of STMicroelectronics SA for 10 years. He has been a Director of MEDEA+ since July 2004 and ST-Ericsson NV since November 2, 2009. Mr. Dutheil has been the Chairman of the European Nanoelectronics Initiative Advisory Council (ENIAC) since November 2007.

He serves as a Director of CATRENE, the pan-European Programme for advanced cooperative Research and Development in Microelectronics and STMicroelectronics Japan. Mr. Dutheil was named a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the French government in recognition of his outstanding career in the service of science and industry. He also created an innovative education tool for the STMicroelectronics University (STU), based at Fuveau, France. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Marseilles (ESIM).
